You know what is convenient about being visually impaired? Having an excuse to not care about what your website looks like. It also makes designing it for screen readers optimized compatibility.
UPDATE 7.27.20
Wow, I really have been neglecting this site, huh?
A lot has happened so I’m going to just mention a few things for now.
I’m in the middle of having this page designed so that sighted people can find something to look at it. Inclusion is the ultimate weapon, right?

UPDATE 3.19.20—
I have been very busy and neglectful of this page, but here’s what’s good. I’m going to put a ton of links in this for a number of things I’ve been doing recently… so brace yourself!
First off, I have released a new album, Unseen Reheard, with the fine folks at No Index records. It is available as a digital download and physical cassette (C 60). You can order and stream HERE. There you will find some info on the release, why it exists, how I consider it a disability justice and radical blindness piece. It contains compositions from 2018-2019 including work from The Chicago Sound Show, Access Is Love And Love Is Complicated, Shape Of An Echo short film, and work exhibited at Expo Chicago and Gallery 400.
Thanks for the support!

I started a Youtube channel, too. I decided it was time to make art accessible for sighted people and got visual for once. Everything started off as an audio piece and stands on it’s own without image. That said, I am working to make versions with open audio description for my blind community. I’ll have to commission someone so please be patient! If you’d like to volunteer to help I would greatly appreciate it. email me: andyslatery2k@gmail.com
Now here is the link. HERE.
I have posted a lot of material this week while social distancing.
I also post a lot of art on my Instagram. @ThisIsAndySlater so feel free to follow.
Like every artist I have had a slew of shows, performances, and exhibitions cancelled or postponed. My album release show and Comedy Equinox Showcase at Lincoln Lodge that Tressa and I host, and the Images Festival in Toronto. I’m working to make versions of the Images installations into VR experiences viewable/listenable on YouTube VR and Steam/Unity. Stay tuned on that news.
Here’s a video from last October about the Chicago Sound Show. I am the featured artist and talk about accessible recording and basically my whole deal… Andy stuff.

Please be safe and creative during this health crisis. Check in your friends and family and support all the artists you know buy purchasing their work, donating cash, or commissioning them to make something for ya.
I am currently exhibiting work in these shows…
The Chicago Sound Show at the University of Chicago. Unseen Reheard is installed in the Wieboldt Passageway. Printed maps are available at the Smart Museum.
Access Is Love And Love Is Complicated at Critical Distance in Toronto includes an installation of Tap And Roll/Paralytic Transit and it’s companion book. I will be a part of a panel discussion November 9. More info on that event soon.
Shape Of An Echo film was nominated for the Incinerator Social Justice prize and is currently showing at Incinerator Gallery in Victoria, Australia.
