Here are a few things that I have been up to over the past few months that you might find interesting.
Eexperience this VR audio piece I made from ambisonic recordings of Columbusand Humboldt parks for the Chicago Park District.
View in the YouTube app if you are using your phone or tablet save the browser version for your desktop. You can move your device around you in a circle and up and down to change the point of audition. You can also accomplish this by swiping your finger on the video itself. If you are on a computer you can use the mouse by clicking and dragging on the video screen. Where headphones! GO HERE!
I put together an hour long piece called En Route: Jackson CTA Transfer. 13 separate binaural recordings of me navigating between the blue line and the red line of the Chicago Transit Authority Subway lines. It was part of the route that I took on my way to school at Northwestern University. It was a two hour trip from Evanston to Berwyn each way! Recorded October through December 2019 if you miss public transportation you might find this Pleasant. While I was recording some dude handed me a dollar and walked away. I wasn’t asking for money but apparently titheing to the church of Andy is an actual thing. GO HERE!
Lastly, we had almost 3 feet of snow in the Chicagoland area over the past week and a half. The snow is up to my knees! During the blizzard I went out walking m, or dredging if you will, halfway around my block. When the snow is this high I don’t need my cane. This is one of the few times that I am comfortable enough to leave the house without it and so in the midst of the blizzard I went out and celebrated. I made a video called Blizzard Makeover and you can WATCH IT HERE! Image description can be found in the YouTube description box.
OK, you are all caught up for now.
Until next time…
